Indie plugin developers that I love (pt 1)
There are some independent / boutique plugin developers whose work has profoundly influenced my process, whose tools I use on a daily basis, and whose software I will often buy sight unseen.
So I thought I would share some of them with you! Perhaps you will find some fresh inspiration.
Fuse Audio Labs. Standout plugins: Flywheel (“nice” tape), TSC-68 (Tascam 8-track emulation!), VCL-515 (limiter with tons of character, killer on backing vocals).
Kiive Audio. Standout plugins: Tape Face (“medium character” tape), Xtressor (the Distressor model to beat, imho).
Korneff Audio. Standout plugins: Micro Digital Reverberator (the model of the Alesis Microverb that you didn’t know you needed), Talkback Limiter (a model of the talkback limiter in the SSL — think Phil Collins’ “In the Air Tonight” ultra-compressed room sound).

This is enough for now — I want to keep this brief enough so that you feel like you can click the links and do some exploring! Every title I linked is somewhere between relatively inexpensive and outright cheap, so don’t feel intimidated — it’s important to me to recommend accessible tools. I’ll do more recommendations in subsequent posts.
Happy exploring! Interactive Moders — as always, feel free to message me for usage ideas. (And if you’re not yet supporting this excellent daily resource with a paid subscription, please consider this a friendly invitation to do so. 🖤 )
