Rock Band stems

I was chatting this afternoon with my (extremely talented) friend Allison Winkler (Bone Haus, Gock), and we had the following exchange:

So I asked her where she finds the stems, and she told me that some enterprising souls have hacked the Rock Band stems library and put it up online, downloadable. The stems are in a format that you can’t play directly in a DAW, but apparently Audacity will convert them (lol).

So now you know! If you want to get up to speed on how huge bands approach guitar tones / drum sounds / etc, you can take yourself to school.
