Swap the channels

Here’s another great little hack for getting a fresh perspective on something you’re working on:

Listen to it with the left and right channels swapped!

This probably doesn’t sound like much. I could imagine that it even seems a little stupid? But try it. You will be shocked at how much it breaks through whatever you’ve been starting to take for granted.

It’s like you’re listening to a different song. And sometimes, in that song, the guitar on one side is way too loud. Which of course means that it’s probably too loud in the normal version of the song too. Lifesaver!
